If you are thinking negative thoughts, you will begin to slide towards the negative end of the emotions scale.

Thinking that leans towards the negative end of the spectrum will in time, create negative emotions. In order to feel happier, it is important for us to consciously keep tabs on our thinking. Be a watch dog for negative thoughts. Always try to guide your thinking in a more positive direction.

The same goes for thought processes as with emotions. It's awfully tough, and nearly impossible for a person to go from thinking destructive, negative thinking to thinking wonderful, encouraging thoughts instantly. We can try, however these thoughts are most likely "fluff" with no real substance or belief behind them. Therefore it is important to also improve our thinking one thought at a time-gradually.

It is not possible to go from thinking self defeating a destructive thoughts to thinking wonderful and admirable thoughts overnight. The important concept to grasp is that this is a gradual, long term process. Keep your mind focused on improving one thought, one step at a time.

Thoughts progressions and improvements happen naturally, slowly and gradually over the course of time. Consistent practice will yield results.

However it is possible to gain great momentum with either positive or negative thinking. This can be either a wonderful or harmful truth. Depending of course on the direction your thoughts are moving.
