You definitely need to be able to get everything in order, but you must learn to keep it that way in order to stay organized. Personal organization is not a onetime issue; it is something that must be worked on for the rest of your life.

You should always keep your personal organization plan as easy as possible. If you set your goals too high you might lose track of your overall desire to become more organized. Keep yourself on your toes when it comes to personal organization and don't allow yourself to put anything off for later. Giving yourself small tasks like a specific bed time or waking hour can be a great way to get started. When you are able to accomplish things that you set out to do it will make you more prone to continue those habits.

When you plan out your day ahead of time it can help your personal organization. When you have a set plan that you want to follow you will be less tempted to do other things that might end up putting you behind schedule. You should procrastinate as little as possible. Everyone tends to procrastinate a little bit sometimes, but it is being able to overcome the desire to do other things that sets apart good personal organization from bad. If you are being productive, why would you want to hamper that? When you finish you work, you will see that you have much more time at the end of the day to do exactly what you were going to procrastinate with in the first place.

Managing your stress is a big part of personal organization. If you are stressed out constantly, you will not be as productive with work and your social life will take a hit. There are many people that find it hard to believe that the major cause of stress in most people is themselves. As with most circumstances there are two ways to deal with stress, positively or negatively. You don't need to try to be absolutely perfect. If you force yourself to do something so much that you are not able to have a good time outside of school or work you will end up doing more harm than help. Don't go overboard with your expectations, but keep them high nonetheless.
