You've decided to take the plunge and propose to your girlfriend. This is a major moment in your life and now you have to find the perfect ring. What you didn't realize is that there are virtually millions of engagement rings, and to make matters worse, there are hundreds of thousands of wedding rings. Matching sets, single rings, what do you choose? Here are some things to remember.

1. Pick a ring that suits her. There are millions of engagement rings. There is only one girl that you really love, though, and that ring needs to be perfect. If she is a girl who likes fancy things, a significantly sized stone or one with a lot of diamonds will suit her. If she is a lower key girl, then you can look for a ring with a vintage setting. The point is, find an engagement ring that looks perfect for her. Just picture it on her finger.

2. Remember what follows. Wedding rings need to be deliberated when picking that engagement ring. Are they going to be a matching set? Will she continue to wear her engagement ring after the wedding? There are a range of things to think about. While your choice of engagement ring shouldn't be influenced by on a wedding ring, it is something to keep in mind.

3. Get your money's worth. Make sure you browse around. You are about to invest a considerable amount of money on this ring. Be sure that you get a ring from a reputable place. Don't be too embarrassed to ask for the estimate that comes with the ring. That diamond is an investment, too.

These are but a few things to keep in mind when picking out engagement rings. There are many things to think of but remember this is a monumental moment, and a joyous one. The ring that you pick is a symbol of your love and commitment. Always remember that at the end of this process will hopefully be a thrilled fiance and a memory to last a lifetime.
